Description The Chamber Managers are responsible for facilitating the development of sector and subsector plans that are research-based and monitored jointly with stakeholders. They must facilitate the identification of skills needs and the scarce and critical skills in order for the SSETA to adopt a sound framework for strategic planning informed by a comprehensive sector profile. The incumbent must develop Chamber operational plans aligned to SSETA strategic objectives. Further to this, the incumbent must develop systems and processes for stakeholder relationship building and management. Lastly, the role must manage realisation of the SSETA mandate through sector and sub-sector skills development initiatives.

Requirements A 3 YEAR DIPLOMA, OR EQUIVALENT IN A RELEVANT FIELD , 5 YEARS IN TOTAL, 3 YEARS IN MANAGEMENT AND 2 YEARS IN A RELATED SECTOR, • Good understanding of SETA business • Understanding of the PFMA • In-depth knowledge of skills development legislation and policy framework • Stakeholder management and the ability to develop and maintain stakeholder networks • Relationship building • Negotiating and influencing skills • Extensive knowledge of compliance principles, legislation and regulations governing SSETA • Computer literacy • Problem-solving and decision-making • Service Delivery Innovation
Duties • Manage and build relationships with stakeholders to ensure skills development initiatives in the relevant sectors • Facilitate and manage stakeholder mobilisation • Coordinate the implementation of skills development initiatives in various subsectors • Manage and implement governance structures within the Chambers • Monitor and evaluate the impact of implementation of skills development initiatives • Achievement and management of unit business plans and resources • Manage staff within the Unit
