Role of the Research Committee


The Research committee serves as an advisory and oversight body. The main role of the committee is to ensure that the research process is followed and subsequent undertakings proceed in a smooth and compliant manner. The Research committee also provide necessary technical support to research undertakings.

Composition of the Research Committee


The Research Committee which is in the process of being reconstituted will ideally be elected by members of the SSETA Industry Chamber Boards, who should nominate one member per chamber board to become a member of the Research Committee. The Chairperson and the Deputy Chaiperson should be elected by the members of the Research Committee.
The information supplied by you, our member companies and stakeholders will therefore inform the SSETA and assists it in making informed decisions about priorities for skills development. This information will also provide the SSETA with much needed baseline data from which it can measure, benchmark and report on Sector needs and achievements. This information will also be made available to our member companies and stakeholders to help them to better understand the industry/chamber/sectors in which they are working. It will also inform all education and training providers since it should provide valuable signals about developments and future skill needs
