Answer
Recognition of Prior Learning programme (RPL) whereby previous learning and experience of a learner is obtained against the learning outcomes required for a specified qualification, and the acceptance for purposes of the qualification which meets the requirements.

What is entailed in an the RPL Programme?

Answer

  1. Identifying what the candidate knows and can do
  2. Matching the candidate’s skills, knowledge and experience to specific standards and the associated assessment criteria of a qualification
  3. Assessing the candidate against those standards
  4. Awarding credits to the candidate for skills, knowledge and experience built up through formal, informal and non-formal learning.
