Feuerstein Project

Cognitive Development has been a key focus within the Services Seta for quite some time now.  In 2008, one of our large Labour Recruitment member companies, submitted a proposal that required their staff to go through a Cognitive Development programme through Feuerstein SA.  Feuerstein SA is a leading agency which covers cognitive development both in South Africa and internationally.  The member company found that they had PDI staff at junior level that seemed to have the potential to move into higher positions within the company however, they found it difficult to make that progression.  The purpose of the project therefore was to take the staff through the Cognitive development process to assist them in reaching their full potential.  The learners would then be enrolled on various management related SSETA learnerships which would provide them with the practical tools to perform in a management capacity.

Four types of individuals were targeted for this project, ie,

• Recruitment Consultants
• Sales Consultants
• Site Managers
• Site Agents.

The Project is now in its 3rd and final phase, which includes the on the job coaching and mentoring of the learners.  Once this has been completed, the learners will be enrolled onto the learnerships.

This is a pilot project being implemented through the Chamber so I will keep you updated with the success of the project as it progresses.
