Hiring is one of the industries represented in the Services Sector and consists of Miscelleaneous Item and Truck & Plant Hire. The scope of this industry covers Earthmoving and Crane Hire (with & without operators), Car, Function, Small Tool, Video, Clothing, Garment, Constume, and other Equipment Hire.The Chamber’s responsibility is to identify and provide training needs within the above mentioned industries, in line with the Skills Development Act and NSDS 2.

| The Chamber is currently running a pilot project on fifty learners who are on Plant Operations NQF level two learnership with the Mutual Construction Company. This qualification belongs to the Construction SETA (CETA) and the implementation is through the Memorandum of Understanding between the SSETA and CETA. |

| The industry is excited about the innovation of the Simulator based training for plant operators as it is the first training of its kind in the Hiring industry worldwide. The training is based on the real Earth moving equipment models that are used in the industry. Simulator will provide the closest experience to the real Plant Operations environment and feel. |
