Cleaning is one of the largest industries identified by the Minister of Labour as falling under the Services Sector. It is
predominantly made up of the Small and Micro Enterprises and encompasses Contract Cleaning, Carpet & Upholstery,
Dry Cleaning & Laundry, Supply of Cleaning Equipment, Supply of Chemicals and Consumables, Car wash and valet,
Window Cleaning, Domestic Services, Garden Maintenance, Recycling and Waste Management and all other specialized
Cleaning services. Since the inception of the SETAs the Cleaning Chamber has, through Hygiene and Cleaning Standard
Generating Body (SGB), developed Qualifications, Learnerships and Skills Programmes; trained Skills Development
Facilitators, Assessors and Moderators and accredited Training Providers.

| The Chamber has registered new qualification and is currently developing Assessment Tools, Training and Learning Material for unit standards relating to Rope Access and Fall Arrest Industry. The Chamber has also re-registered the General Education and Training Certificate in Hygiene & Cleaning NQF level one. is the new registered qualification and Learning material. |
