Site Visits

When conducting Site Visits, please ensure the following; upon the SSETA team's arrival. The SSETA must request the contact person to make an office or an unused room available for them for the duration of the visit to complete the necessary documentation and to answer some question relating to documentation to be completed.

The SSETA team will go for a tour through the facility and engage with the learners and ask them to complete the learner feedback form.

  • Learners must be on Host Site (You cannot do site visits if learners are not on the site)
  • The forms to be completed by the Regional manager or person from SSETAconducting the Site Visit.
  • Ensure you have a template with learner names and ID numbers(Attendance register or template will suffice)
  • Learners needs to sign next to their names on the template to ensure all learners are there.
  • Note Site visit report applicable to the Host Site you are visiting as well as the learners on Site – if learners are broken up into groups you need to conduct site visit on that specific group as well (You need to see all groups and all learners)
  • Learner Feedback forms to be completed by the learners.

Role Players

  • The learners – should take some responsibility for managing their portfolio;
  • The facilitator– responsible for the identification of skills required as per Learning programme and in the Portfolio for Facilitation;
  • Mentors/ Coaches– responsible for supporting or mentoring the learner through training;
  • The Assessor– assesses the learner;
  • The Moderator– verifies that standards of assessments are consistent across;
  • ECFs (Evidence Collection Facilitators) – advise and support Learners to prepare, organise and present evidence.
