1. Yethu iWellness Overview - Introduction of Role-players

Dr. Susan Steinman

Dr Susan Steinman is the originator of the Yethu iWellness programme and the creator, book editor and leading author ofthis toolkit.

She is the founder and chair of the Workplace Dignity Institute, a management consultant, published author and international keynote speaker. Susan holds two doctorates and conducted international research and project management for UN agencies over many years. Her contribution to society was rewarded with an Ashoka Fellowship in 2002, and she received the Nedbank Business Achiever of the Year Award in 2008 in the social entrepreneurship category.

Her cutting-edge work in relational wellness focuses on transforming the workplace into an equitable, trauma-free environments. Her accomplishments in this field lead to her involvement and interest in the field of employee wellness a few years ago. Since then she has obtained a reputation as an international leader in the field and the launch of the Yethu iWellness toolkit is a major achievement.

TJ van der Merwe     

T.J. van der Merwe is the HR Director: Industrial, Training & Special Projects @ the SERVICES SETA and responsible for the Health & Wellness Division internally to staff & externally to our stakeholders.

He worked very closely with Dr. Steinman in putting this global leading project together. As an experienced Labour Law Practitioner he believes that a lot of the day to day workplace issues can be minimized through consultative processes & mediation with the implementation of a proper Health & Wellness programme equally in large & small companies.

A Health & Wellness Initiative need not to cost a fortune and must be implemented with the size, cultural, industry, etc. of the Organisation kept in mind. That is the sole purpose & aim of the Toolkit!
